Economy 'Trump-ed' by COVID-19

April 17, 2020

Frustrated that Trump denied that COVID-19 was greatly impacting the economy, I attempted to showcase the 'behind-the-scenes' picture of what was really going on. It was only fitting, in my opinion, to reference the Black Knight from Monty Python and the Holy Grail.

Impeachment

December 19, 2019

I attended a journalism conference in D.C. a month prior to making this cartoon and was immediately drawn to the editorial cartoon and political reporting sessions. After not much convincing since our Advisor, Mr. Raisner, is so open-minded, I was able to publish the first political cartoon on Scot Scoop. This cartoon was my interpretation of what was happening (actually, what wasn't) in the Senate after the House impeached Trump.

Bernie and Biden’s Excellent Adventure

April 17, 2020

I was surprised when I saw that Bernie and Biden announced they were teaming up to create joint “unity” task forces that would shape the Democratic policy and agenda. I referenced the movie Bill and Ted's Excellent Adventure, since Ted's quote described how I reacted to the news.

Putin’s ‘Presidency’

Cartoons: Work

March 28, 2020

Putin announced he would be extending his 'presidency' until 2038, along with other amendments to the Russian constitution. Clearly, he had his best interests in mind and wanted to further his dictatorship, which is why I depicted him crowning himself as king. In my opinion, this is nearly identical to when Napoleon literally crowned himself monarch since they both showed their supreme power.

Warren’s ‘Bern’

January 27, 2020

I wasn't sure what the point of Warren's comment was, so I poked fun at her by assuming it was a campaign strategy to increase her ratings. If it was a campaign strategy, I'm not sure how well it worked...

Washington’s Wish

January 21, 2020

Washington's Farewell Address intended to serve as a guide to future statecraft for the American public and his successors in office, but clearly failed. He told us to attempt stay neutral in foreign affairs. That sure didn't age well...

Not Much Has Changed

May 10, 2020

With this cartoon, I wanted to make a connection between the KKK and terrorist groups.

'Essential' Guns in Texas

'Essential' Guns in Texas

April 30, 2020

Texas considered gun stores essential amidst the pandemic. I was puzzled as to why they were deemed essential.

Apple and Spice

January 13, 2020

Many consider Apple to be one the most successful companies of all time, but they are not nearly as successful as spice companies during the Dutch Golden Age in the 16th century.

Which mask will pass?

September 17, 2020

I created a visual that shows which mask would be better suited for smoke or for COVID-19.

Third-Party Votes Go to Trump

September 5, 2020

Voting third party in critical elections steals votes away from candidates who may not exactly align with people's views, are much closer than their competitor.

Carrying the Weight

February 15, 2020

Being a student is tough. We are told to take as many advanced classes as we can, along with a surplus of extracurriculars. And for what? To get into what is deemed a ‘good’ college? To get a ‘good’ job?

The State of this Union

February 7, 2020

Trump ignored his Constitutional powers when he asserted that he has total authority. During the 2020 SOTU Address, Pelosi tore his speech once he had finished since he had avoided important topics and exaggerated others. I agree with her actions, and although it may have been unprofessional, Trump has done far worse.
